enCompass is guided by a passionate, volunteer Board of Directors, bringing together a dynamic mix of community voices and diverse expertise. Our Board provides leadership and direction to the CEO and oversees the agency’s strategic direction. The Board adds value by shaping and contributing to a strategy that the CEO operationalizes and delivers. The Board acts honestly and in good faith with a view towards the best interests of the agency and the individuals and communities we serve. Our Board exercises care, diligence and skill in living its role, including understanding the agency’s unique context and the space we operate in. The Board is an ambassador for the agency, ensuring enCompass stays rooted in community needs and opportunities.

Marissa is a practising Crown Prosecutor with Specialized Prosecutions. She is a former criminal defence lawyer, and in her spare time, participates in various theatre endeavors to support local companies.
Dan Yereniuk

Dan Yereniuk
Dan Yereniuk was born and raised in Edmonton, and is currently a lawyer in Dentons Canada LLP’s real estate practice group. He has been an associate with the firm since 2016 when he was called to the Alberta Bar, and prior to this he summered and articled with Dentons. Dan’s practice incorporates all aspects of commercial real estate law including purchase and sale transactions, property development, leasing, and financing.
Dan is a passionate advocate for social justice and working to create strong, safe communities through the programs offered by enCompass.
Christine Moore

Christine Moore
Christine is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in finance and administration, demonstrating expertise in accounting, cash flow management, strategic planning, budgeting, and financial analysis. Throughout her career, she has excelled as a visionary and strategic leader, successfully developing and implementing strategic plans, fostering continuous improvement, and collaborating effectively with senior executives and partners.
Beyond her professional achievements, Christine has a deep commitment to nonprofit work and a passion for making a positive impact in the community. Currently, she also serves as the Board Chair of the Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation, actively advocating to end domestic violence and drive policy change. Additionally, she holds the position of Board President with Caregivers Alberta, where she focuses on supporting and empowering caregivers. Furthermore, Christine sits on the board of Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters (ACWS) and is part of their survivor advocacy group.
Andre Tinio

Andre Tinio
Andre Tinio was born in Wainwright, Alberta and his family was one of the first to move there from the Philippines. He later moved to Edmonton to pursue post-secondary education and completed a degree in Sociology with a Community Service Learning certificate at the University of Alberta, and later obtained a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Calgary.
As a registered social worker, he currently provides professional practice support and ethical consultation for members of the Alberta College of Social Workers. He previously volunteered with the Zebra Centre where he provided external practicum supervision to social work students and supported their diversity committee. Andre has also served on the City of Edmonton’s Community Safety and Well-being Task Force that developed recommendations to address racism, discrimination, excessive use of force, poverty and homelessness based on trends, best practices, and change models from across Canada.
Andre is proud to bring his knowledge in regulation, inclusion, diversity, and equity to support the fundamental work of enCompass.

Erika Rebus
Erika Rebus, CPA, CMA, is a business strategist who enjoys the challenge of creative problem solving. As the Manager of Business Planning and Performance in the City of Edmonton’s Department of Urban Planning and Economy, Erika is passionate about making Edmonton an inclusive, thriving city. She brings over 15 years of public sector experience, including business planning, performance measurement, reporting, forecasting, and regulatory policy. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exploring the outdoors, and chasing after her two adorable children.
Steve Burford

Steve Burford
Steve is the Vice President, Finance & Technology for Legal Aid Alberta (LAA). He ensures that systems and infrastructure necessary to support front-line staff in delivering legal services to clients are sufficient and reliable, as well as preparation of budgets, business plans, and sustainability plans for review by the Board of Directors and LAA’s funders.
Steve has a wealth of experience in federal, provincial and municipal governments. He has worked with the Canada Revenue Agency, Parks Canada, the Government of Alberta and several other organizations. Stephen is a CPA-CGA who brings wide-ranging experience to his role with LAA and the board of enCompass.
Sarah Fox-Junker

Sarah Fox-Junker
Sarah has been a Probation Officer with the Province of Alberta for 2.5 years and during this time she has worked on several different committees and units, she is currently sits on the Domestic Violence Committee. Prior to her work in Probation, Sarah worked at Native Counselling Services of Alberta both in their head office and at Buffalo Sage Wellness House – a correctional facility for women. She has also worked at the Edmonton Institution for Women as a Social Programs Officer. Sarah has always had a passion for working with people. As a young high school graduate she accepted a position as a Program Manager at a respite home for young people with severe disabilities. Sarah is equally passionate about working with Indigenous People. To this end she has been blessed to have had several Elders guide her and teach her. Most importantly Sarah is dedicated to her work in Corrections and believes that with the right supports in place all those incarcerated can be successfully reintegrated a become fully engaged in the community. Sarah was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan but moved to the Edmonton area at a very young age so she considers Edmonton to be her home. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a BA specializing in Sociology and Criminology
Kim Collister

Kim Collister
Kim Collister is the Volunteer and Staff Resource Manager at Boys and Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters (BGCBigs). During her 20 plus years with BGCBigs she has participated in a variety of opportunities to support HR in the non-profit sector including the Edmonton HR Cluster Group, Alberta Mentoring Partnership (AMP), Risk Management and Lean Management training and the employment of young people facing barriers. Early in her career, after graduating with a BA in Criminology from the U of A, Kim was involved in providing programming at the Edmonton Institution for Women and with Child and Family Services.

Brandon Makowecki
Brandon is the Compliance Lead at SIRKit Ltd, previously to that he spent over 10 years working as a senior IT administrator for an enterprise organization. He brings a strong technical background with a passion for helping both organizations and people understand both how their technology is holding them back or helping them succeed. His current work brings him frequently in conversation with business leaders to assess and build achievable plans for their technology future.
As a lifelong resident of Edmonton he brings a passion for local organizations and initiatives and tries to support them both inside and outside the workplace. Brandon has seen the impact that the team at enCompass has had and is passionate about helping the team continue to realize those goals.
Melissa Santoro

Melissa Santoro
Melissa Santoro was born and raised in Edmonton, and is currently Executive Director, People and Culture with Civida, Edmonton’s largest affordable housing provider. She has been a practicing Certified Human Resources Professional for over sixteen years, spending most of her career in the post secondary sector. Melissa specializes in labour relations, talent management and organizational culture and is passionate about making meaningful strides in equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Melissa is an advocate for social programs and working to create strong, safe communities through the programs offered by enCompass.
