WrapED is a FREE early prevention program that supports vulnerable youth who are involved – or at risk of being involved – in gangs or high-risk lifestyles. It is a voluntary community program for those seeking to begin a new, healthier life journey.
What Supports are Offered?
WrapED provides targeted, community-based interventions – with a goal of reducing youth involvement in the justice system.
This strength-based program provides youth with skills, knowledge and confidence to take the steps necessary to make positive changes. Interventions are designed to address the individual’s needs and situation. Support can come in many forms including:
- Education
- Employment training
- Financial support
- Treatment
- Housing
- Social behaviour supports
WrapEd contributed to a reduction of $1,254,000 in Edmonton Police Service and Justice costs, and $276,000 in mental health and substance abuse recovery costs were avoided. (2019)
