Community Assessment and Parole Supervision (CAPS) is a FREE program operated by enCompass in partnership with Correctional Service of Canada. The team at CAPS is responsible for the completion of Preliminary and Post-Sentence Community Assessments – as well as assisting with supervision during Unescorted Temporary Absences, as required.
Community Assessments are requested by the Edmonton Area Parole Office and completed by Community Assessment (CA) writers.
Program Goals
The purpose of a Community Assessment is to identify the suitability and type of support that an identified family member or natural support can offer throughout the individual’s federal sentence.
Based on information discussed during the interview and available file information, CA writers make a recommendation of the type of support the Case Management Team can expect from the identified community member.
