enCompass offers comprehensive reintegration support to individuals incarcerated at institutions in and around the Edmonton area. It fosters a transformative and successful transition back into the community, and empowers individuals to embrace new opportunities for growth and positive change.
Program Goals
To provide FREE, comprehensive resources and support to aid the individual’s long-term goals and set them up for success upon their release.
Community Reintegration Services
enCompass offers comprehensive reintegration support to individuals incarcerated at institutions in and around the Edmonton area. It fosters a transformative and successful transition back into the community and empowers individuals to embrace new opportunities for growth and positive change.
Through this program, enCompass can provide guidance and assistance in the following areas:
- Pre- and post-release planning
- Record suspension information and application guidance
- Self-advocacy training
- Support for friends and family of incarcerated individuals
- Community referrals for:
- Housing
- Legal assistance
- Community meal programs
- Education and employment services
- Counselling and mental health support
- Support that transitions from ERC to the community, including
- Transportation
- Connections to community programs and services
- In-person appointment support
Creating Awareness Program
To support individuals in the Edmonton Remand Centre (ERC), enCompass provides free workshops and resources through our Creating Awareness program.
The program provides participants with essential skills and knowledge to assist them to successfully transition back into the community after release. Our facilitators also connect participants with additional resources available at the Remand Centre and in the community.
